About Sally
Hi there! Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am a trained peer support specialist in the state of Alaska. I've struggled with various issues in my life, but thankfully I had peer supporters in my life to help me overcome them. Now, I am in a position to help others by sharing my experience and passing on the wisdom shared with me by my peer supporters.
My Recovery Story
I am living a lifestyle focused on wellness and discovery. I see my challenges and experiences as stepping stones toward my purpose to support others.
My Motivation To Help
After experiencing the loss of my son and his father to suicide, I am motivated to support family and friends who support loved ones living with mental illness or addiction or who have lost loved ones to suicide. I also want to help peers recognize that a mental health diagnosis or substance use disorder does not prevent them from living the life they deserve and desire.
